Back at Home...

Team Dagley has now relocated out of the hospital and has been back at home for five whole days, and four crazy nights. Everyone is getting used to each other and Will has started to open his eyes a little more and has begun to observe the family he is in. Thus far, I would say he is curious, but optimistic about us.

Jenny has been an absolute Mom rock star. She is up and about and doing very well, and Will absolutely loves her. She can calm him down, and change him in about 5 seconds flat. I am pushing her to go pro in speed-changing. She has a shot at going all-state this season. She is an awesome Mommy already.

As for me, I have changed three really dirty diapers, and only passed out twice. Perhaps I am exaggerating a little, but how can something so small, make something so big? And smelly...? But I love him tons and he is so fun to hold, especially now that he is spending more time awake, looking at me, silently judging me...

Mom and Dad W. have been awesome as well. We have learned a ton from Mom about the nuances of baby raising and she has cooked some amazing meals. Dad has been busy fixing our sprinkling system, a project that I think has put a few gray hairs on his head.

Speaking of sprinkling systems, I thought I would make two observations about the first few days of parenthood:

1.) What is the point of purchasing diapers? Our child has decided that the best time to go is when the diaper is off. The minute the fresh air hits Will's midsection, he let's out a stream of fury that has caused serious problems on our blinds. Plus, he gets so upset that he is getting his own hair wet, and there is simply no way to tell him that he is the cause of that problem. I went to the store yesterday and bought him his first cup, it protects us from his surprises, and protects him from his own "showers"... The "pee-pee, tee-pee" is worth its weight in gold.

2.) Buy Babies R' Us stock now. I went in there on order to buy a changing table cover and the protective sponge cup. I walked out with a sack of clothes, mittens, towels, etc. I lost total control of my mind and my wallet. I think I single handedly made their June sales forecast. I never thought things were "oh so cute and adorable" until I met Will. It's like we had Will and then I became a girl who can't control her shopping. Seriously, who makes this stuff so adorable?

Lastly, here are some pictures of the last few days! Hope you all enjoy!
